Companies like Converse, are your best option if you are looking for industry leaders in the sunglasses industry. The reason as to why Converse is looked at as one of the higher scaled sunglasses manufacturers is because with their beginning in shoe manufacturing, they have been around for over 100 years.
Converse is a shoe company that is based in America and they have been in production since the early 20th century. They were one of the industry founders for athletic shoes and apparel when they were founded in 1908. Marquis Mills Converse was a manager at a footwear manufacturing firm. He decided that it was time to open his own company and so the Converse Rubber Shoe Company was created in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908. At first they produced shoes with a winterized rubber sole for men, women, and children. By the year 1910, 4000 shoes were being produced a day but their tennis shoes weren’t put into production until 1915. When the Converse All-Star basketball team was introduced in 1917, that is when the company’s popularity started to rise. Charles H. “Chuck” Taylor was once a basketball player but then became the spokesperson for the brand and began promoting the shoes all over the United States. He continued to promote until 1969, when he died.
Considering that Converse has been in the lives of American citizens for over 100 years, their popularity has grown exponentially and so they began their work on their accessories line, especially with their sunglasses. If you are looking for a company that has an immensely diverse line of sunglasses ranging from wide rimmed glasses to Ray-Ban Wayfarer-esque shades, this is the company for you. Converse has created such a diverse line up of favorite sunglasses designs that there is literally something for everyone of every style. One of the more unique qualities of their sunglasses is that the names are all music/concert related which most definitely caters to their music-oriented demographic. As an example a couple of the names of the sunglasses are: Lineup, Ticket Holder, Half Stack, Endorser, With the Band, and Opening Band. The sunglasses themselves are constructed out of plastic or metal, depending on what your personal preference is.
Converse has been in the fashion industry for an extended amount of time and with this time comes a vast amount of knowledge. Although their company gained their popularity due to the vast selection of tennis shoes, they expanded their product line drastically and introduced some exciting and unique pairs of sunglasses that everyone can love.
